Thing QoS tests for public connectivity
The following guide describes how to run QoS tests between a specific Thing over a public cellular network and the Monogoto cloud.
To view the QoS tests menu, select the Thing you wish to test and click the QoS button.
Single load test
A one-time QoS test with predefined packet size and duration up to 60 request. By the end of the test, each request will be displayed on the chart together with avarge jitter, packet loss and round trips times (min, max, avg).
To start a test,
Go to the Thing page and click the QoS button from the top section.
Select the number of ping requests (up to 60) or leave the default value (5).
Select the packet size (up to 1000B) or leave the default value (100B).
Click START and wait for the test results.
Only one test at a time can be executed. During the test run the QoS button will have a spinning icon until it ends. If you wish to manually stop a test that was started, click on the QoS button and than click to STOP the test.
Once the test ends, the test results will be displayed on the chart. Additionally you will receive an inbox notification with test results.
15 minutes test
A 15 minutes test in intervals of 30 seconds. During the test run the bars which represents the tested intervals will be displayed on the chart together with avarge jitter, packet loss and round trips times (min, max, avg) which is a aggregation of the results from each interval all together.
To start a test,
Go to the Thing page and click the QoS button from the top section.
Select the
15-min.
test and click to START.
Only one test at a time can be executed. During the test run the QoS button will have a spinning icon until it ends. If you wish to manually stop a test that was started, click on the QoS button and than click to STOP the test.
The QoS measurements results will be displayed on the chart during the test run.
Once the test ends, the test results will be displayed on the chart. Additionally you will receive an inbox notification with test results.
24 hours test
A 24 hours test in intervals of 15 minutes. During the test run the bars which represents the tested intervals will be displayed on the chart together with avarge jitter, packet loss and round trips times (min, max, avg) which is a aggregation of the results from each interval all together.
To start a test,
Go to the Thing page and click the QoS button from the top section.
Select the
24-hour
test and click to START.
Only one test at a time can be executed. During the test run the QoS button will have a spinning icon until it ends. If you wish to manually stop a test that was started, click on the QoS button and than click to STOP the test.
The QoS measurements results will be displayed on the chart during the test run.

To get notified on QoS insights out of the Monogoto hub, simply select the quality of service insights for a Slack or email integration.
