How to Configure Thing to Work Only With One Device IMEI?

In this guide you will learn how you can configure a restriction to allow your SIM card to be used only with your entered device IMEI.

1. Login to the Monogoto portal and go to Things.

2. Select a Thing from the list by pressing on it's name.

3. When Thing Menu opens, In Master IMEI field, please enter a device IMEI that you would like to be the only one allowed to use this SIM card.

Please note that your last used device IMEI with this Thing is shown in IMEI filed. Therefore if you want to allow only the last used device to be used with this Thing, then you can reuse IMEI field value in Master IMEI field.

4. After entering your device IMEI address, please press on Lock Master button to activate the limitation to restrict this Thing to be used only with our entered device IMEI.

5. In order to save our changes, please scroll down to the end of the page and press on SAVE button.

Thatโ€™s all โ€“ the configuration has been completed.

Now that we have configured to allow only one device IMEI to be used with our Thing, in case a device with different IMEI will try to use this Thing, he will be not allowed to use the SIM card services. Also, inside Thing Menu you would see error mentioning that a device with different IMEI has attempted to use this Thing. Please see example below.
